GMAC Bowl Here We Come!
Good evening Trojan fans. We are all excited about Troy getting to play in the GMAC bowl. This is the first time a team from Alabama will play in a bowl in Alabama. As exciting as it is for us, some are disappointed or rather shocked as they jumped to the gun and bought tickets to the R&L Carriers Bowl in New Orleans and booked a room. Oops! I could see booking the room but tickets before the announcement. I'm thrilled for Troy but at the same time alittle sad that there goes our trip. With the GMAC Bowl being on a Wednesday there is no way I can make that trip. Oh, well, we will be cheering them on with our very own Troy Bowl Football Party. What a way to end the season. This has been a great season for football. Troy winning the SunBelt Conference and Alabama winning the SEC Championship. I was born and raised an Alabama fan so the victory Saturday night was wonderful. I did have some tears in my eyes for all of players, Saban and the fans. It was so sweet also to see the Gators see that in football you win some and you lose some. Sorry, not being mean but I will say Saban coached with class. He could have ran up the score at the end and after what Florida did to Troy back in September, I wish he would have but that shows what kind of person he is. I will say Saturday was the Gator Tail that Troy didn't get to taste! Roll Tide and Go Trojans! My Christmas and New Year's wish is for both teams to WIN! I so wish since I can't make it to the GMAC Bowl that I could go to Pasadena but that's not going to happen either. Ugh! Oh, well, at least we can look forward to next year.
Right now, I'm not organizing a bus trip but the Wiregrass Alumni Association is. Let me know if you need info.
Well, Troy fans, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Be Back Soon.

Congratulations to the 2009 SEC Champions
Roll Tide Roll! Congratulations to the 2009 SEC Champions as #2 Alabama beat #1 Florida for the SEC Champion Title. What a great game. Roll Tide Roll. Yes, this is a Troy blog but considering I was born and raised a Bama fan and the fact that I traveled to Gainesville this year to see Troy play the Gators, this was a great moment. I feel for Tebow and the Florida fans but this is football. You win some you lose some. Bama got some Gator Tail tonight what a sweet victory for us Troy Trojan fans.

Troy versus Arkansas
Good evening Troy fans. Another big game is upon us this Saturday and I'm already siked up for it. I just don't understand these major networks that schedule 3 colleges in one state to play at the same time! Alabama is on ESPN at 6 P.M., Auburn on ESPN2 at 6 P.M. and Troy is on CSS at 6:30 P.M. it completely amazes me.
Well, I pulling for two of the above teams but hey I guess I can pull for the other one too since they aren't playing Bama this weekend. Yes, I'm a very nice fan even if others aren't. This weekend proved alittle too stressful to me and football fans with opposite opinions.
The last Troy home game is scheduled for November 21st at 3:15 P.M. This is also Salute to Armed Forces and Senior Day. We have decided to make it a huge tailgating event. We plan to have at least 4 Troy tents and food out the yazoo!!! But since my personal trainer has worked my hiney off this week and the "food nazi's" are going to be joining us for the game and tailgating I'm going to bring healthy food. Well, kind of. But that day, well, one meal will be my cheat meal of the week. I'll be good for breakfast and dinner. That way I can tailgate right for the last home game.
I invite everyone to come to the game and see Troy play. You won't want to miss it. Since the end of the season is near, I'm hosting another contest. Leave a comment on the blog and I will be drawing for a winner for a very special Troy door prize. Leave a comment as many times as you like to enter to win. Contest ends December 20th!!!!!! Spread the word and share our blog!

Go Trojans and Go Bama
Okay, yes I'm all about Troy but as a Troy fan I do have vested interest in the Alabama LSU game. I'm a born and bred Alabama fan that dates back generations. I'm also a Troy Fan who ventured to the Troy LSU game last year on November 15th and saw Troy show LSU and their fans what dedication, teamwork, and football were all about. It was such a great game that even with a loss of our 31-3 lead and the game it was monumental and will forever be in my heart. It sure was fun being in third quarter and seeing that the majority of the LSU fans had left! All that being said, I'm looking for Bama to kick some LSU butt! Not being ugly just being a true southern fan for both Alabama and Troy. It's about time LSU!
Roll Tide Roll!
Go Trojans. They play Western Kentucky at 4 P.M.

Homecoming 2009
Well, Homecoming 2009 has come and gone and I will have to say it was so much fun. This is first time I've been back for more than just the game so it was a treat seeing so many friends I haven't seen in awhile.
Friday was fun. Anne and I drove to Troy after a friend's birthday dinner. We arrived at The Front Porch and were greeted by our friend Donna. We had other friends join us. We then retired to Donna's house where as Stark calls it - we had a hen party. Hen party, slumber party or whatever it was it was a lot of fun. We laughed and laughed until Donna said, "now that clock it right and that one is wrong so you need to look at that clock". Well, it was 2 A.M. and we couldn't believe it. We all went to bed to try to get some rest before the big day. I believe Donna's son John came in from work at 5:15 A.M. to catch some zzz's before returning to work at 9 A.M.
We all went different ways. Anne and I loaded up and went to start tailgating. We met up with our tailgating friends - Dianne Herring, Melita Smith, Dot Jackson, Darlene, Delaine, Sarah, Charlie and more. We had a lot of fun and too much food as well as our very own Troy cheerleader - Miss Anna Fischer !
Here are a few pics. I will post more this week.

Homecoming 2009
Good evening Troy fans. Homecoming week is here and the fall weather has finally arrived just in time for Homecoming. Let's hope it stays cool for Saturday - not cold just cool. I don't want another 90 degree football game for Homecoming. I'm excited about seeing old classmates, friends and new ones. So looking forward to tailgating especially!!!!!!! Have tent and will travel. For those that visited the Front Porch during their college days I'm hearing they are welcoming alumni back. You might want to visit your old stomping ground to see if it has changed and tell them hello.
I want to invite everyone to Troy's game on Saturday. Kick-off is at 2;30 P.M. Don't forget to come early - Trojan walk is at 12:15 and you don't want to miss that.

Football Saturday
Good morning Trojans fans. I'm really excited about Football Saturday. I'm loving this cool weather. To me it means football season weather is finally here.
Troy is playing Florida International at 6:00 P.M. tonight in Miami. Unfortunately, no television coverage is available but we will be pulling for them. Auburn and Alabama both play at 6:45 P.M. tonight. It's going to be a great football Saturday for all fans.
I'm excited about having a nice and peaceful Saturday. No plans just working around this house and of course watching the Bama game tonight. I'm sure I'll flip to catch parts of the Auburn game.
Hope you all have a wonderful football weekend. Go Trojans!!!!!

Troy 31 Middle Tennessee 7
What a great game Trojans! The excitement was in the air and ESPN was all around. It was great to have the Trojans play on national tv and let everyone see just how mighty our Troy Trojans are! Of course, I have a few pictures I promise I will post. Hopefully, tonight after church.
Bear's mom and several friends and family members joined us during this game and it was great seeing them. We got to visit and catch up some since we haven't seen them since last year. Now, Julie and I are on a manhunt for some shoes. Can't wait to wear them if we can find them.
Have a great evening Troy fans. Will be back soon with pics from all of our home games from this season!

Home Game Televised on ESPN2
Hello Trojan fans. Another home game is upon us as the Troy Trojans host Middle Tennessee tomorrow night. The game will be televised on ESPN2 @ 7:00 P.M. I would like to encourage all fans that can to come and join us. It will be a great game and lets show ESPN2 viewers that we support our Troy Trojans!
I'm working on several posts I hope to complete this week. I've got more pictures from Florida I hope to add and I also have some pictures from Worldwide Trojan Pride Day. I'm so excited that football season is here and in full swing.
I really missed having a Troy game this past weekend but I got my fix on football with the Alabama and Auburn games. I joined some friends and we had a wonderful football feast for the Auburn game with just about anything you could imagine. We had my famous stuffed mushrooms & baked oysters, Steve's famous smoked oysters, hot wings, salad, Susan's rice, Donna's beer can chicken - that no one seem to want to cut (LOL! inside joke), chips, salsa and of course, boiled peanuts! Everything was absolutely delicious. We were amazed at all the food as this was a last minute decision by Kathy to host the shindig in her lovely home. Thanks Kat! It was wonderful. Everyone had a wonderful time. I've got lots of great new recipes I can wait to share with my dear friends Julie and Stephen. Julie and I are always in search of new recipes and now I can add to our collection! I can't wait for our next football gathering (or any gathering) so I can share these with you!
Well, I've got to run and get ready for work. Lots to do early in the A.M. and early P.M. so I can get done and head north to see the mighty Trojans!!!! Go Trojans!
